Welcome to Awhina Health Campus - Research & Knowledge

This site provides information and advice for those who plan to undertake research and/or clinical audit projects that may involve or be in collaboration with Waitemata DHB staff, patients and/or facilities.

All proposed interventional/observational research and audit & related activity must be registered with Awhina Research & Knowledge.

All proposals must have received ethical approval (where this is required) and have completed the Waitemata DHB research approval process before permission will be given to commence. This is specified in order to manage the risk and use of resources especially where this involves staff or patients.

Do I need ethics committee approval?

The Principal Investigator is best placed to understand how the guidelines for requirement of ethics approvals apply to the research s/he plans to undertake. However, if you still have queries regarding requirements for ethical review after having read the guidelines please send an outline of your project to the Lorraine Neave, Manager Research Advice, Education & Promotion.
